We Are The City At Breakout West

The boys from Kelowna put on a another great performance at Habitat this weekend for Breakout West in their homecoming show. The place was packed at the all ages concert and many Peak Performance members, past and present, were in attendance taking in the 50 minute set.

Aidan Knight jumping up on stage for a hand with the tambourine was a crowd favorite along with the last song of the night, Astronomers. I've seen them twice now and I both times I was completely impressed with the talent of Andy, Cayne and David. And as humble as they are talented to boot. Not to be missed next time they are in your town.

Countdown's On

White Rock, BC

Well I am done packing and now just charging all my gear and going over all my lists and checking them twice! Tomorrow morning I'm leaving for Kelowna for two reasons: my cousin's wedding and Breakout West Music Fest & the Western Canada Music Awards. I'm pretty excited, this is my first time doing a real event, like for fucking REAL event. No idea what to wear. It's an award show but I'm media..is that dressed up or all black...or dressed up black? fuck me...sigh. Anyway, wish me luck and have a great weekend!

It Gets Better For Wear Purple Day

It gets better. The bullies peak in high school, get fat and probably verbally abuse their poor wives and you...YOU will have a fabulous life you NEVER dreamed possible. You will know love and acceptance. But you need to be alive to see it. It's a pretty good life after all.

Happy Thanksgiving From Canada

One of my favorite images from my childhood was the harvest cornucopia my 1st Grade teacher Mrs. Huron had up on the classroom wall before Thanksgiving. Seeing a picture like this reminds of all the great things I am thankful for and this blog and everyone who reads it are among them.

Peak Performance Project Showcase 4

I had the pleasure of seeing Steph Macpherson and Christopher Arruda on Thursday at the Red Room in Vancouver and both put on great shows. Behind Sapphire and Said The Whale also played but unfortunately I had to get out of there. It was crazy hot and I felt totally claustrophobic...because earlier in the night ,on my way there, some crazy pulled a gun on our Skytrain car. It wasn't directed towards me but it kinda shook me up and I just wasn't feeling it that night. I swear to god, someone does not want me going to Waterfront Station! Every time I travel there, something happens. Anyway, next week is the finale with Greg Sczebel, YUCA, Kuba Oms and Kyprios. I'm planning on seeing the whole show this time. I think I'll get off at City Center though this time.

Jack Johnson Live In Vancouver

It was a great show. The place was sold out and was packed to the top nose bleed section. I don't think I've seen "Rogers Arena" at capacity before and I've seen shit loads of concerts there. True, it was bit more mellow than normal indoor shows and I did prefer to see him at Thunderbird in the sunshine, but really? Any Jack is good Jack. For real. And covering The Joker by Steve Miller Band? Well played, Jack, well played. Excellent choice for us "midnight tokers."
