I was going to wait and post this tomorrow but I am too pissed not to get it out of my system right this very fucking second.
As you may have heard, read or saw on the news a young man was brutally stabbed and beheaded aboard a greyhound bus 1 week ago today in Manitoba. It has shocked not only Canadians but people the world over and seeing as I was born in the same city this man was born in I feel a certain kinship to someone I never met.
So imagine not only my disgust but that of the family of this young man to wake up this morning and learn that Peta has jumped on board the publicity train and used this horrific tragedy to further propagate their scandalous ways by publishing the ad found above. Let me preface this by saying that I love animals and will do whatever I can to protect their rights...as animals.
But I am sorry Peta has gone way to far with the comparison of this young man's final moments and that of a slaughterhouse. How fucking dare they? How fucking dare they do that to his friends and family! Have they no fucking shame? No respect for HUMANS? What happened to basic dignity in these matters? Basic respect and sensitivity for the victim? Will they be at the funeral like the crackpot Baptists in the US? Is that too far for Peta?
How in fucking hell can anyone working for that organization sleep at night knowing the kind of hurt, shock and disbelief they have inflicted on an otherwise already grieving family.
Where is the line in the sand for decency? Where is the respect for human life that is so deserved by animals according to Peta?
WHERE IS THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF PEOPLE IN THIS?
So in parting...fuck you Peta. Fuck you.

PETA has time and time again shown that they don't care about human beings whatsoever. Nevermind that most of the animals whose causes they champion are then euthanized by them. They're crazy people, pure and simple. Its one of those things where you just gotta tune 'em out 'cause consider the source. A homeless man downtown once told me to run to Nashville where the Jackson brothers couldn't get me. Yeah. Still living in Seattle. Same principle here.

Radicals of any kind are horrible. The dumb thing is that they end up turning people off to their cause. Why can't they be smart enough to say "hey, humans come first, but animals should be treated well." They could triple their membership. Hey, who hasn't fantasized about throwing paint on some rich bitch's fur coat? But the health and well-being of humans will always come first with me. (Well, maybe tied with gorillas and chimpanzees.)

I am in utter disbelief that Peta did that. No, the word I must say is Horrified. I remember when this happened and was so heartbroken for the boy (victim). I know it has been sometime since this happened but I was not aware about the ad from Peta - and now, just dumbstruck.
