An Overpriced Day At The PNE

Despite being insanely over-priced, the 100th Anniversary of the Pacific National Exhibition is your standard day at the fair with a bit of something for everyone. Sorry, that's the best I can do. I thought it was a complete waste of a money and time. I've been before but this year seemed like one long, hot, day filled with price gauging. From parking ($25 on site) to admission ($20/adult $50 with a ride pass) to food ($50 for 4 burgers,4 drinks and 1 order of french fries). I don't know how a family can go out and enjoy themselves in this economy and spend like that. Family friendly entertainment failure all around based on price.

These are some great photos, Jax. They had just the right amount of Diane Arbus--not so much that they err on the bizarre, but just enough to remind me that carnivals are just not right.

Maybe it's my mood, but there is something bleak and faintly threatening about those photos - all this before I read your comments. Weird.
