That beautiful mosaic frog I actually have a replica of, on my fridge as a magnet. A former lover had sent it to me from Spain, along with some of the best chocolates I've had in my life :)

Indeed they are! I studied those as part of my advanced Spanish program in high school. My teacher had spent her life traveling Spanish speaking countries and immersing herself in the culture and local issues, even marching in protest of American guerrillas while she was in South America. So she had a one up on most teachers I think. Its funny how much of the stuff in Spain already looks familiar to me because of my Spanish courses! I'm so jealous!

Bad Fish, Do you what year that was? I marched in a few "U.S. out of El Salvador" and "U.S. out of Nicaragua" protests here in MN in the late '80s. I had an art history professor who had traveled Europe extensively, and had seen most of the originals of the artworks we were talking about, including the caves at Lascaux. Personal experience can make a brilliant teacher!

Sweet Elmo t-shirt. I took my son to Sesame Street live this weekend.
