Sloooowww Sunday...

Mornin all...it's a slow one. I have a bit of a sunburn from yesterday's day of shoppin and beachin and fish n chipin..damn that was a good time. Today, I'm not sure. Might take in a museum with my parents or go antiquing to an old timer village. Whatever, it's quality time outside of an apartment and away from the TV. Right now I'm nursing a cup of tea and reading some secrets. Enjoy your Sunday...

The Moment That Started It All...
I was trying to think back to when I was probably 8, maybe 9 and watching some awards type show and wow, I witness my generation's first Moon Walk by Michael Jackson. Thank you to Enty for completely coincidentally posting this today. My search is over. You know how when people talk about Elvis it's Fat Elvis/ Thin Elvis? Well I'm starting Black MJ/ White MJ.
I loved Black MJ as kid but White MJ scared me in the night.

RIP Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson
1958-2009
In 1984 I received the Thriller album for my birthday. It changed my life and how I viewed music. He was the first artist that I respected and adored as a tweener.
It wasn't because my brother liked his music or a friend had the album, this was the first performer I had chosen on my own.
Today I grieve the loss of a small bit of my childhood and the pop idol I listened to on vinyl.
RIP.

My great Grandma, Gramma, my suave looking Grampa and Great Grampa.

My Dad peeking out behind his plate of bbq in brown.

From another angle, holding court with the ladies.

With my older brother Rod and Mom.
Looking back on that outfit it's kinda funny he ended up working for an airline!

Dad's side of the family gathered in back. Dad on right with Pepere in white, center.
Have a wonderful Father's Day with your Dad,no one can ever take their place!
Thanks Dad, love you!

Karl Lagerfeld- Twitter Master

You MUST check out Uncle Karl's Twitter page for some of these new favorite gems. I spent a lot of time reading this stuff and it had me in stitches,no pun intended. I don't know if it's really him or not but I find it highly amusing either way.
"Guilty feelings about clothes are totally unnecessary. A lot of people earn their living by making clothes, so you should never feel bad."
"If I read too much or know too much it's not because I want to talk about it, it's only because it's interesting for me."
"I have no scene. I go everywhere. I adapt."
"I only wear the latest thing. It's my job."

Sunless Sunday...

Wtf, weatherman? You said sunny until Wednesday.
It's Sunday, bitch!
Anyhow....today will be a day of utter relaxation. walk around the lake, mindless grocery shopping where I can wander and read labels all the live long day if I choose to and then a relaxing BBQ of steak and corn on the cob at Patio De Jax. I've already started it off with a surprise online baby shower via Facebook for a great women who's going to be an awesome Mom. Great idea if you can't get everyone in one place, and lots of fun to prepare for. Google images is your friend!
And I've read some secrets too. Not as great as last week, these ones require a bit more intellect than the obvious.
Annnnd that's about it. Have a great Sunday!

A Lazy Sunday of Secrets & Antiques...

Mornin' all. I'm sitting here listening to Grapes of Wrath, a local band from the early nineties. I decided to go old school this morning with this doozie and man, these songs still hold up...20 years later. sigh. 20 years? colour me old. You can hear one of their best songs here. The only bad thing about this band was their fucking hair!
And of course I'm reading today's secrets...there are quite a few good ones this week, well done Frank. This one made me crack up because I often think the same thing...sorry Canada.
I hope you all enjoy a great Sunday doing whatever it is that you are doing. I'm going to the local Flea Market with my Mom. I hate going, it's all trash (people and merchandise!) but my Mom loves going. She never buys anything and complains about how everything is just junk and I'm starting to think that is why she loves it....lol. Anyway, that is the plan then I'm getting my hair do did at 4 by my good friend. We've known each other since we were 10, so it is always a good time laughing about old boyfriends and adventures we had.
Have fun!

Observations In Everyday Life...
I was out walking around my favorite local lake the other night and happened upon a flock of ducks,2 adult ducks, 6 new ducklings and a 1 big fat white goose. Shortly after I was joined by a Dad and his two young sons. We all watched in silence for a few minutes as the ducklings ate at the fresh dewy grass as their parents stood a few feet away. Every time one little duck would stray the big white goose would swoop around it like a sheep herder and if you got too close it would flap his wings and hiss at you.
I walked away with the father and his two young sons trailing close behind and overheard their curious questions as we both made our way around the lake path.
"Dad, why is that one white, is she the Queen?" said the boy.
"It's a boy, it's a King!" said his older brother.
"It's neither. He is just a different kind of bird. They are ducks and he is a goose and he lives here with them all. He just thinks he's a duck."
"Did someone leave him here?" asked the older boy.
"Ya because he' s different than all the rest. Is there something wrong with him Dad?" his brother added.
"No there is nothing wrong with him, he is no better or worse than the others. He is just different than them. But he doesn't know he is any different. And they don't let him think otherwise. That's important in life, letting people be people. Let a dog think it's a goldfish, who cares? I'd like to see that actually. Anyway boys, you should always be true to yourself and never stand in the way of someone being true to themselves."
Silence.
"Can we get ice cream?"
